Oh, Erin, love it. Thanks for sharing. I think we have similar taste in music. Songs on your play list really speak to me and touch my heart. I just brought Fallen by SM and her cd/dvd. Too bad it didn't come with lyrics. I don't even really understand what she is singing-haven't had time to watch dvd yet.
Have you watched other Jap. anime? If you love Mimiko, you will probably like others. I can't remember the ones I watched and loved on top of my head, but there are quite a few that my kids and I have watched that we love. My memory is not good at remembering anything's titles, even ones I love. (LOL).
Pippi Longstocking is a storybook character from my childhood. "The Adventures of Pippi Longstocking" by Astrid Lindgren. There are also a couple movie versions of the book. One has real actors and the other is animated. One of my favorite authors, Lauren Child, also did the illustrations for a newer book (of the old story). I just adore her and have recently introduced my own children to her whimsical adventures. :)I'm sure you can find most of them on Amazon.
We also really love "Totoro" and have watched it a million times!
I'm happy I have inspired your musical collection. I started listening to SM in High School and still love her music. :)
We were home sick yesterday and came upon your page...my son made me watch this video and the subsequent ones on youtube for a good part of the afternoon - - he LOVED this! Maybe we'll be able to replace Speed Racer on Hulu for this for a while...

Oh, our family loves Miyazaki movies too! We adore Totoro, it's been a standby for years.
