The papa had to go to work today since he works as an IT at an accounting firm, they are not allowed to take off work during tax season unless it's an emergency. Grr.. The boys of course have been their usual demanding selves and haven't let me rest much. They camped out in the bedroom with me for a bit, but quickly grew bored and went off exploring. I have given up on trying to get everyone to take a group nap, and decided to sit and write for a bit instead.
Although I was forced to endure yet another painful bed-ridden weekend, the downtime did give me a chance to spend some time much needed time with God. Although part of that time was spent yelling and cursing at him in my head, He eventually calmed my sobs and drew me into His restful arms where I was filled with a slightly sinus-medicine induced state of lucid dreams. Memories from my past began flooding back to me and before forgetting, I quickly scratched down a few pages into my collage journal, which I have taken bit and pieces of photo snippets for you to view. For years now I have been wanting to begin writing a memoir, but just haven't had the strength to pry open those old doors again. I feel that God was telling me this weekend that it is time to begin.
My only experience consists of writing books as a child, poetry as a teenager, collage journaling in my 20's, and now blogging. Beyond personal experience I don't know the first thing about writing. I have always felt that I have a story to share though and that urge has become stronger recently. I'm going to try to focus on my memoir this week and may not blog as often. I will try to continue reading all of your beautifully written entries though. In the meantime I'm going to leave you with another photo stream of the past few days. Hope you all have a happy and healthy week. :)
Oh, I almost forgot.. I was ever so ever so lovingly nominated for the Lemonade Award, which I humbly and graciously accept. Thank you dong dong. :) I think I am now supposed to nominate a few others, but I will have to give it a bit of thought..
Anyway, onto the lengthy photo stream.. Enjoy!

Hi, Erin
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. Sorry to hear about your tummy. That is so hard. Beautiful pictures. The tent with your kids is so cute. So are you kids. I think they have your lips and eyes, do they not? I love your little one's expression with the sword. Just precious.
And why do you call your hubby panda? I think my hubby looks like a real panda/bear, esp. when he needs a haircut. That's what I call him sometimes too. :)
Hope the antibiotics help more than they hurt. They can do a number on me as well. Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteSweet pics!
I love the babydoll all tucked in warm and cozy! BTW, I'm a Gilmore Girl rerun watcher too! I miss that show soooooo much!! I hope you are finally feeling better. :)
ReplyDeleteAntibiotics are what made me feel so horrible last week! I hope they are gentle on you and you get to feeling better. Sinus pain, it's how I know spring is near :0)
ReplyDeleteHoping you feel increasing wholeness and wellness in the coming days.
