We're planning to start around the beginning of Sept. I will probably use the higher shelves for storing reference books and then keep the ones the boys use more often, along with learning materials, on the lower bookshelves with the curtains I made. We are slowly accumulating books, so it will probably take many years to fill! :)
Anna- thank you! Not exactly. I'm using our classroom more as a place to store materials and as a quiet room for the boys to go if they want to work on a project. Today I am taking them to my dad's to stay for a few days where they are going to do all sorts of hands on learning activities.. that's more the direction we are headed in. :) I have joined a couple yahoo groups in the area and hope to get to know some people, go on group outings.. etc.
I love that your project room is nice and sunny. All those shelves are great, too. If you don't have enough books to fill 'em, I'm sure the boys could easily pack them with art in no time. :) Don't get discouraged if things are tough at first. If you're anything like me, you'll change your ideas 15 times before finding what works--but it is SO worth it!
Hope things go well for you!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to y'all! Keep us posted. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen does school start?
ReplyDeleteDo you have plans for those empty shelves?
Thank you!

Are you doing school-at-home then? Do you have local groups for being in contact with?
ReplyDeleteBest of luck! Enjoy!
