Homeschooling: Week one- Field trip!

Hello my beloved friends and family!

Things are finally starting to wind down a bit around here after a crazy busy summer. I am hoping to begin blogging more regularly from now on. I also want to apologize for being such a neglectful reader and commenter. I have missed keeping up with what is going on in everyone's lives. Now that the weather is cooling down and life is beginning to slow, I look forward to spending some time catching up with all of you. :)

Our first week of school started off with a field trip to Papaw and Lexi's for several days while I prepared some projects for the upcoming week. I sent along my camera with them so that I wouldn't miss a thing! Oh, and I know I tend to go overboard on the pics, but my dad took so many cute photos that it was really difficult to choose which ones to post!

The boys spent time organic gardening and helped bake cookies and banana bread..

They spent time cheering up and old friend..

And playing with a new friend..

They also visited the local animal shelter and welcomed another dog into the family..

My little zebras then visited Rolling Ridge Ranch in Amish Country, where they took a wagon ride and got to feed and pet all sorts of exotic animals. :)

They returned home this afternoon after a fun (and educational!) visit and lots of exciting stories to share. As nice as it was to have a bit of a "break".. I've missed my buddies and am happy to have them back again. :)

Although, give me a few days and I might be ready for another field trip.. ha!

XOXO, Erin

  1. Glad you're back. :)

I'm jealous; Gerrick doesn't have any family that will take him cool places. My mother came up last week for a couple of days and she wouldn't even stay at our house with him while I ran to the grocery store!

  2. How fun! I love the boy's jackets! They look a little like the zebras and a little like jail birds!
Glad you're back in the blogging world! I've missed you!
