I would love to live close to the ocean. Unfortunately in Ohio the closest thing we have are lakes. This photo was taken last summer at Lake Erie, near Cleveland.. which is about a 2 1/2 hour drive for us from here. J and I have not been to the ocean as adults and the boys have not seen it at all, so we are sooooo excited to be taking our first vacation to North and South Carolina in a few weeks! My mom rented a condo for our entire family for a week, which steps right out onto the beach. We are really looking forward to the boys seeing the ocean for the first time and spending time with my family relaxing and playing in the sand and sea!
I'm sure I will take tons of photos to share with you after our return! :)
I lived in North Carolina for about 10 years, both in the Raleigh and Charlotte areas. I really liked Wilmington beach and there were several spots where not so many tourists were hanging around. I've heard that the Outer Banks are fantastic and lots of family things to do. Myrtle Beach is nothing but one huge tourist area. (not so my taste) but offers lots of things to do. Wherever you land I hope the weather is fine for you. Good or bad, I'm sure your kids will have a great time.
ReplyDeleteoh, how exciting Erin! I love water and would also love to live near the ocean, beach, lake, whatever. Have a fab time!
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting--a whole week! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your pictures.
We're planning a trip to Florida in mid-Sept.; it'll be Gerrick's first beach trip.
That's sounds like a great vacation, ahead!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are getting to vacation on the beach. Sounds like something you really need right now. Looking forward to the pictures. I love your ohio beach view, perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the well wishes.
Lisa :)
This photo is fantastic! I always wish I could live in Utah, but have the ocean near by too. I guess that's the compromise.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat for all of you!! The lake photo is gorgeous. We mostly just have ponds around here. Unless we want to drive a good bit.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that the beaches in North and South Carolina are great.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your kids are going to love it.
Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad your boys will have a chance to see the ocean: it's an experience not to be missed for a kid!
ReplyDeleteThe lake is lovely. My parents grew up in Ohio. I still have lots of relatives there. Closest I've been to the lakes is a visit to Sandusky but it was freezing cold so we didn't go to the lake. Drove past, if I recall correctly.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week away !! What fun !!!
oh! have a great time! can´t wait to see the photos. besos-jane
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun. Don't forget your ziplocks for collecting. Have a happy summer :)
ReplyDeleteI grew up on Lake Erie-a piece of water that has seen some hard times. Your picture took me back to the best part of my childhood-playing on the lake and in the woods-thank you.
